When it comes to investing, there are many complex decisions to make — whether it’s about how much to invest for retirement, how to turn investments into an income stream that supports your lifestyle and that you can’t outlive, to whom you will hand off your business when you retire, or how to distribute assets as part of a legacy. The last thing you want to do is procrastinate out of ignorance, fear or uncertainty.
Having begun my career in the consumer products industry working for Fortune 500 companies in the 1980s and 1990s and being on the wrong side of corporate downsizing and acquisitions, I understand how difficult it can be to implement a long-term financial plan while raising a family and building a career in the face of a volatile economic environment.
So in 1998, I decided to change careers and dedicate my professional life to helping people with their financial life. Since then, I have been helping folks navigate the complex world of financial decisions. My team and I diligently seek to understand what matters most to you and to identify whether your financial actions are in line with what you ultimately want to accomplish.
Our passion is to provide clarity and confidence to your financial world, utilizing a comprehensive process that matches your concerns and wishes with customized strategies and solutions specifically designed for you. We want you to feel good about the plan of action you decide to take. It is my belief that you can expect trustworthiness and excellence from me as your advisor, as well as understanding how your plan is good for you and your family.
Although I was raised in central Indiana, I’m an adopted son of St. Louis. I moved here right after graduating from Indiana University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree from its top ranked school of business (aka “Kelley School of Business”). In addition to my academic education, I’m committed to continuing professional education, having earned two designations, Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), which certifies that I am fully trained in all aspects of insurance, investments and financial advising services. As a current member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors), as well as a former President and board director, I believe in serving my industry that has done so much for my professional development.
The driving force behind my professional passion is my faith in God and my love for my family. I have been married since 1985 to Tammy, who is also our Director of Operations. We have raised three boys, two of whom served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the third is a former Eagle Scout, and are proud grandparents to 6 fantastic kids. When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me serving in my church, fishing, making wine and honey, planning the next trip with friends, or spending time with my grandkids.
